Torch Run supports Special Olympics – L’Observateur

LAPLACE — St. John Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre and various officers, alongside with a team of neighborhood citizens, participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Unique Olympics Louisiana this week in LaPlace and Reserve. Under partly cloudy skies with a mild breeze, cheering crowds greeted the team at educational facilities alongside the route, which includes John L. Ory Magnet, East St. John Superior, St. Peter, and Riverside Academy.

Deputy Ingrid Perrilloux, the function organizer, worked with longtime torch operate supporter and SJSO retiree Greg Maurin to organize the celebration.

“We glance forward to participating in this once-a-year celebration that brings collectively law enforcement officers with community citizens to elevate cash and recognition for these a fantastic corporation like the Unique Olympics Louisiana,” Sheriff Mike Tregre explained.
