From early on in the very first episode, Obi-Wan Kenobi‘s title character was witnessed seeking to commune with Qui-Gon Jinn, the Jedi Master less than whom he skilled as in the initially prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace. But to no avail.

Until, that is, Obi-Wan had clashed not as soon as but 2 times all over again with Darth Vader aka his onetime padawan Anakin Skywalker, and arrived at a little bit of bittersweet closure pursuing their 2nd lightsaber duel inside of the Disney+ series.

Immediately after leaving a critically wounded “Darth” guiding on a barren moon, amassing his things on Tatooine and then bidding the Larses farewell — but not in advance of formally assembly a young Luke — Obi-Wan rode his eopie throughout the dunes. He did not cease till a common facial area stood in his path, basked in the glow of a Drive ghost.

“Master Qui-Gon…?”

“Well, took you glance sufficient,” scoffed the late Jedi Learn, played once more by Liam Neeson.

“I was commencing to feel you’d in no way occur.”

Obi Wan Kenobi Neeson

Neeson originated the part of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn in The Phantom Menace, and also voiced the character in episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and as section of an audio montage in Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker. And though a year in the past he dismissed the thought of reprising the position in previous co-star Ewan McGregor’s Disney+ collection (“No, I never assume so. No, I have not been approached,” he explained on  Jimmy Kimmel Reside), below he was in the finale, scraggly locks and all.

Explaining his eventual encore to our sister site THR, Neeson, reported. “I undoubtedly did not want any individual else participating in Qui-Gon Jinn, and I desired to display my respect for [Star Wars creator] George [Lucas] and that mythical environment that he produced.

“Plus, Ewan is a pal,” the Irishman added, “and I loved working with him throughout The Phantom Menace 25 years back.”

Ended up you delighted to see Neeson do suitable by George Lucas and old mate Ewan McGregor? But dare we hope to see him play Qui-Gon any further, if Obi-Wan will get a Season 2?
