Android tablets are generally criticized for acquiring much too handful of updates and not ample prolonged-time period support. Realme, which just launched its initial tablet a couple months back, isn’t doing anything to support that name by confirming that its essentially brand new Realme Pad won’t get Android 12.
In an FAQ posted this week, Realme right verified that the Realme Pad would not get Android 12. Not that it would be delayed, but that the tablet’s major update daily life cycle is more than ahead of it even began. Even so, the tablet will continue receiving stability updates and “performance updates” going ahead.
Q. Will realme Pad be up to date to Android 12?
A. No, realme Pad will not be up to date to Android 12, but will keep acquiring security and functionality updates throughout its software lifecycle.
Realme Pad launched with Android 11 out of the box in September of final calendar year. The mid-sized pill presents a MediaTek chip, 2000×1200 Liquid crystal display screen at 10.4-inches, and up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Pricing starts at ₹ 13,999 in India, about $190 in USD.
It is unclear if there is any complex reason why Realme would pull the plug on its pill so swiftly, particularly when its Helio G80 chipset isn’t even two yrs old at this stage and effectively within the window of assistance. Irrespective, it is an absolute shame to see.
In the meantime, the Nokia T20 pill fees $249 and promises at minimum two decades of key OS support, and a few years of stability patches.
