Bayern Munich vs Gladbach
You would be ripping your hair out if you would have watched the game between Bayern Munich and Gladbach on Saturday, 27th Aug 2022. In worst case, one would have gone bald after watching this game. The match took place at the Allianz Arena. Bayern dominated the majority of the 96 minutes. It was utter and complete domination from Bayern team. Bayern had 20 shots on targets, had 69% possession and 88% pass completion with just 1 goal. On the other hand Gladbach had only 3 shots on target and they scored a goal from a counter. How much frustrating it can more get, right?
Match was also officiated pretty poorly. Many of the Gladbach fouls were not spotted. It was baffling that Manu Kone’ was not carded. It had multiple fouls which went unnoticed by the referee whereas Benjamin Pavard was carded when he had pushed Christoph Kramer who it seemed like fell over easily. Bayern would have wished that an English referee would have officiated the game.Luck was simply not on Bayern Munich side. Sadio Mane scored for the Bayern in the 35th minute. Sadio Mane tapped the ball into empty net after getting a pass from Thomas Muller. Referee Daniel Schlager stopped the game immediately after the goal. He head to the review area and after checking for a long time, disallowed the goal due to an offside in the build-up. It left the entire Bayern Munich team gutted. Post that they went into the panic mode. They were terribly depressed post the decision.
Before this disallowed also, Sadio Mane came close to scoring the first goal in the 12th minute when he shooted an inaccurate low pass into the goal box. It was blocked by one of the defenders. Bayern had multiple chances at the goal but unfortunately for them Gladbach goalkeeper ,Yann Sommer had other plans. He had an amazing game and pulled off the best goalkeeping game seen for a long time. He was the sole reason that Bayern Munich could not run away with the game. Despite dominating the majority of the game they were left trailing 0-1 against Gladbachs at the half time stage. Marcus Thuram scored the goal for the Gladbachs at the 43rd minute. Bayern Munich equalised in 83rd minute and had to settle for a 1-1 draw. They should have won this game as they dominated it throughout the 96th minutes. It was pure frustration for them to say the least.
